I've got an annuity that my financial advisor

signed me up for with the earnings from my first 401k. I've left it in there but he did it right before the financial crisis hit. It indexes to the S&P 500 but the user incurs no losses if the S&P 500 drops. Obviously they cap the upside amount I can gain yearly to make their money. But the annual date where the gains are locked in for the year is fast approaching.

Happy that I'll have those locked in, in case we do see a near term correction.

The annuity isn't giving you diversification. -- vtbones 01/25/2018 12:18PM
